Children from Gresham Village School and Nursery created their own act of remembrance this week, inspired by the Tower of London poppyfields.

The children each made their own poppy using recycled plastic bottles and attached them to the railings at the front of the school.

Headteacher, Marc Goodliffe said that he hoped the poppies would be seen by people passing the school over the Remembrance weekend.

The poppyfield is a culmination of a term of remembrance at the school, which has included a study of the First World War in history lessons, research into family history, a living history trip to Gressenhall Museum of Rural Life and an assembly theme.

Mr Goodliffe continued “The children have thoroughly enjoyed the project, which has been brought to life in so many ways, not least the poppyfield outside school.”
