RAF Mildenhall evacuated after ‘unknown object’ found

An area of RAF Mildenhall was evacuated today after the discovery of an “unknown object”.

Personnel from the 100th Security Forces Squadron activated special control measures at around 2.50pm on Monday afternoon, after the object was found during excavation clearing.

Members of the public were requested to stay out of the area until officials determined that the object was a training aid designed to simulate an explosive ordinance.
