A children’s entertainer and an auction of promises are just some of the events set to help raise money for this year’s Children in Need event.

Anne Bloor, 38, from Sheringham, also known as Dizzy Wizzy, will be helping raise money for Children in Need tomorrow by getting dolled up in her clown’s face and clothes and going into Sheringham town centre between 9.15am and 1pm to visit the shops and meet local people. Helping her will be her friend, Sarah Knowles who will be shaking a charity bucket.

Mrs Bloor, who became a children’s entertainer after organising her own children’s parties, said: “There are so many families who cannot afford simple entertainment such as a book, television or toys, so if I can do my bit that makes me very happy.”

She will also be giving out flyers out telling people about Dizzy Wizzy and offering 10pc of every party booked to go towards Children in Need.

The White Horse Public House in Overstrand is also helping raise money for Children in Need with a promises Auction on Friday at 8.30pm.

As part of the evening bar manager James Bird has created The Horse’s Tail cocktail.

Among the promises are two tickets to the Norwich v Manchester City game on December 29 and a sail boat trip to Blakeney Point.

The kitchen staff led by Head Chef Nathan Boon have also come up with two promises to cook a meal for six and a meal for four both prepared in the winners’ own homes.

The Vernon Arms at Southrepps is also hosting a man-versus-food challenge with a trio of sponsored challengers each seeking to polish off a super-sized course from 9pm on FridayNov 16. To sponsor contenders people are invited to drop in or call 01263 833355.
