James Wild, North Norfolk Conservative parliamentary candidate, today formally launched his campaign in Cromer with party activists before a day of canvassing voters.

The Conservative Party claim voting for them at the general election is the only way to secure the country a good deal on Brexit.

James Wild, North Norfolk Conservative Parliamentary candidate, today formally launched his campaign in Cromer with party activists before a day of canvassing voters.

He claims the local electorate have missed out in the past by electing a Liberal Democrat candidate.

But where does the former government special advisor, who has links to North Walsham, stand on local issues?

Here, he reveals his top four priorities:

1, Backing Theresa May’s plan to secure the best possible deal for Brexit for North Norfolk - to build a stronger economy, to protect local fisherman, back our businesses and give certainty to our farmers, and benefit from new export markets.

2, Boosting investment and jobs in North Norfolk - by campaigning for more comprehensive mobile coverage, 100% high speed broadband access, and improved transport links to make it easier to get around North Norfolk.

3, Promoting tourism and coastal communities – by backing fishermen and traditional industries, and promoting heritage across the constituency to encourage more visitors

4, Opportunity for all – helping first time buyers with more affordable housing, more good school places, increasing NHS funding and training more staff working in mental health, and looking after those who have worked hard all their lives.

Speaking at the launch, Mr Wild, 40, said: “I grew up in North Walsham and as Theresa May’s candidate, I can deliver more for North Norfolk than it has had in the past. My priority is to make North Norfolk a better place to live and work in by encouraging new jobs and investment, boosting tourism and coastal communities, and ensuring we have more good school places and increased NHS funding.

“I am the only candidate at this election backing Theresa May’s plan so that she can deliver the best possible deal for Brexit and beyond for North Norfolk.”
