I want to complain about this content:

  • I take issue with Jack, the family having had a relative who died in the 1953 floods in the area he is bandying about. Hundreds did not die in Lynn or even Norfolk and many who died in NW Norfolk and the Thames estuary would not have died if they had been in conventional housing and not beach bungalows or emergency prefabs. The defences are much reinforced, there was no problem having a beet factory, muck works, paper factory and nor did Daubney have any problem with redevelopment with housing of an area which should have been left as industrial. Coltishall is not the best place for an incinerator- Saddlebow is.It can take waste from the populated area of West Norfolk and from Norwich and from the eastern fenland area. It has better roads and sits beside power lines. Teh anti incinerator campaign has always been nimby led by Daubney and I still question the validity of the council " referendum" on the topic. It cast its net over an area much larger than will be directly affected and gave remarkably high return. Murphy is no angel but the career enhancing campaign coming out of Lynn council is not exactly shiny.
