I want to complain about this content:

  • The more I read and hear about this story the more murky it becomes. Vaughan talked about strained relations with officers at the hearing. It came out in Murphy's evidence that he and his cabinet tried to carry out a purge of senior officers through a review. Murphy said he tried to have Kevin Vaughan reinstated but David White, the CEO blocked his return. Next Vaughan receives a pay off and isn't allowed to say anything. It was also revealed that Mr Vaughan had made complaints against Adult and Children's Services at NCC and that an external independent investigator had been appointed to carry out an investigation into the conduct of these two departments at NCC. Derrick Murphy claims that Vaughan was suspended whilst he was out of the country and the CEO David White secretly recorded telephone conversations with him. Why was the branch secretary of Unison involved, not just an ordinary union rep? I can't help but wonder if all these events and threads are linked together but are we ever going to discover the truth to all this.
