I want to complain about this content:

  • The parish councillors who took this decision may well think they are giving up their time to serve their community in a voluntary capacity, but they get no sympathy from me. They have brought discredit on parish councils generally and turned Hellesdon P.C. into a national laughing stock. To misinterpret the law is forgivable, to confuse the letter of the law and the spirit of the law is almost forgivable but to discriminate so flagrantly and insensitively against a vulnerable little girl is quite shameful, even if the discrimination is indirect rather than direct. Those responsible should resign immediately taking their equally asinine parish clerk (who sought to justify the decision in the press) with them. While nominations are sought for some decent and sensible people to represent the good people of Hellesdon, I hope that parents of young children in the area will follow the example of Tilly-Rose and her Mum, boycott the Christmas party organised by Hellesdon P.C. and seek their festive fun elsewhere.
