Residents are expected to show their opposition to a plan to build three 126m-high wind turbines on the edge of a Norfolk village when a public inquiry into the controversial scheme is opened today.
South Norfolk Council refused planning permission for three 126m-high turbines on the edge of Hempnall, despite a recommendation from officers.
But because the authority did not make a decision on the application within eight weeks, developer TCI Renewables lodged an appeal – meaning a formal planning inquiry is due to be started at SNC's offices in Long Stratton, at 10am.
However the final decision rests with communities secretary Eric Pickles after the decision was 'called-in' for him to judge,
Hilary Battey, from the Stop Hempnall's Onshore Wind Turbines (SHOWT) campaign group, said it was well-prepared for the hearing.
