The deputy leader of Norwich City Council has been short-listed for a national award.

Gail Harris, who is also City Hall's cabinet member for social housing and represents Catton Grove, is up for the place-shaping and environment award at the 2018 Councillor Achievement awards.

Organised by the Local Government Information Unit and charity fund managers CCLA, the ceremony honours work of councillors from across the country.

Mrs Harris made the shortlist from almost 200 nominations and will find out whether she has won at a ceremony in the London Guildhall on Tuesday, November 6.

The winners will be selected by a group of judges made up of local government experts and councillors.
