A Norfolk County Council by-election will be held next month after the resignation of Liberal Democrat Ed Foss.

Mr Foss, former EDP and North Norfolk News journalist, won the North Walsham East seat in May this year but resigned on September 6.

The by-election will be held on Thursday October 24, and nominations can be submitted to the Returning Officer at Electoral Services, NNDC, Holt Road, Cromer, NR27 9EN between this Thursday and noon on Friday September 27.

Polling stations for the by-election will be at Dilham, Happisburgh, Walcott, Honing, North Walsham East, North Walsham North and Witton.

On the day of his resignation Mr Foss said: “I have, with much regret, made the decision due to an unexpected change in work commitments.”

  • Vote for an Independent if there is somebody standing do not think that this has to be a replacement for the party that has previously held the seat, choose your own local candidate and support him. Alternatively, vote green.
