New North Walsham Mayor Sallie Stuckey wants more people to attend the town council’s monthly meetings and improve the website.

She took over as mayor from Barry Hester earlier this week and Mary Seward also became the new deputy mayor.

Mrs Stuckey said: “My aim is to give the town trust and confidence in the council.

“I would also like to see more people come to our meetings to see what we do.

“And make our website more inviting and easier to move around it.

“This is going to be an exciting year for all of us and I look forward to all the challenges we will face.”

Her chosen charities for the year are North Walsham Play and the World War One window at St Nicholas Church.

She added: “I enjoy looking at the architecture of old buildings and know the cost of the upkeep is horrendous. And I want the whole town to be able to use our play equipment.”
