Mix-up over disabled spaces at Cromer car park

PUBLISHED: 15:39 27 November 2012

Four disabled spaces have been missed off a rejig of Cromer’s Meadow car park.

A member of the public raised concerns that a recent revamp of the area had erased some spaces for blue badge holders.

North Norfolk District Council spokesman Peter Battrick said four of the 14 spaces had not been replaced due to a “misunderstanding by the contractors.”

The error would be rectified as soon as possible.

The number of disabled spaces was 6pc which “more then met the guidelines” laid down for car parking, added Mr Battrick.

  • Went into Cromer to check and can't agree it is just four missing spaces. There used to be at least ten in the front and now there are only four, one of those tucked in the far corner and not suitable for a disabled driver. Also there were five by the entryexit. These are still there, but in the same area there were to more blue badge spaces. These have also gone. The two on the far side remain. So there are at least eight that have disappeared. It seems the council have lost control of this project and are unaware what is going on.

  • Not only do they obliterate these spaces but seem to know nothing about it until someone points it out. Seems a very casual attitude to the use of our money. Appalling management of this work
