Two council offices in West Norfolk are set to close at the end of the month.

Staff and services from the offices in Valentine Road in Hunstanton and the Priory Centre in Downham Market will be transferred to the main office in King’s Lynn.

The offices are currently open for two days a week but opening hours were reduced following a fall in the number of visitors.

A report to councillors showed a steep decline in visitors since cash office and enquiry services were closed down in 2011.

The vast majority of visitors to the offices were buying compostable caddy bags but these are no longer required for the food waste bins.

Residents are encouraged to use online services or make appointments if a face-to-face meeting is needed.

Visiting officers will be available for those unable to make the journey to King’s Lynn for an appointment.
