The Green Party has put its faith in youth when selecting a candidate for the upcoming general election.
The party's Great Yarmouth branch has elected 24-year-old Harry Webb to be the candidate for the Great Yarmouth constituency.
Mr Webb is a former councillor for Caister and the founder of the Great Yarmouth Green Party, and has called on 16 and 17-year-olds to be given the vote.
He said: 'Many 16- and 17-year-olds are more than capable of understanding the issues that affect their lives, and making a sensible judgement about what policies different candidates stand for. The future will affect young people most of all, so I strongly believe they should have a say in who governs us.'
Meanwhile, current MP Brandon Lewis has been selected to stand again for the Conservative Party by the his branch. Candidates for the other parties remain to be announced.
