Maverick Industries, which drew up plans for The Strip in front of Splash at Sheringham, is designing a proposed skatepark at The Meadow in Cromer.

The news came after an extraordinary meeting of Cromer skatepark committee was held on Monday evening at Cromer Parish Church.

At the meeting, church youth minister Edward Land was elected as the new chairman, replacing Andrew Harrison-Robertshaw, who had previously stood down.

Committee secretary Penny Gee said it had been a “good meeting”, attended by about 12 young people and 10 adults.

She said revised plans for The Meadow had been submitted, and were expected to go before North Norfolk District Council’s (NNDC) development committee in November.

She added that, while the permanent park was being pursued, the young people would continue to use a temporary skatepark that had been set up at North Lodge Park.

The latest progress followed disappointment in July, when NNDC planners voted in favour of a sloped site at The Meadow, despite officers recommending a flat site close to the children’s play area.
