A by-election will be held next month to fill a vacancy on North Norfolk District Council created by the death of Keith Johnson (pictured).
Mr Johnson, who had been leader of the council, turned a gun on himself in the back garden of his Compit Hills, Cromer, home after using it to shoot and kill his wife Andrea on December 2.
The election, to fill the Cromer Town ward vacancy, will take place on Thursday February 21.
Cromer Town is a two-councillor ward, which has been represented by Benjamin Cabbell Manners since Mr Johnson’s death.
Nominations can be made from the publication of the notice of election on January 17 and must be received no later than noon on Friday January 25. They should be submitted to the returning officer at electoral services, NNDC, Holt Road, Cromer, NR27 9EN.
● Nomination packs and guidance notes for candidates are available from the NNDC electoral services team or can be downloaded from the NNDC website.

Looks likely Lib Dems called it. How much is this going to cost our council when elections are already taking place in 3 months time?
