Police are trying to work out how a car caught alight in a field half way between Norwich and Dereham last night.

Firefighters from Earlham took about 12 minutes to extinguish the blaze, which happened in a field off The Green in Weston Longville at about 9.20pm. No-one was injured.

Police said the car was completely burned out and they are currently trying to establish what make it is, who owns it and what caused the fire.
