Police say the death was an isolated incident not linked to the murder of widow Una Crown
Police are investigating an unexplained death at a Wisbech hotel.
Officers were called to the Hare and Hounds, in North Brink, by the ambulance service at 11.45am on Saturday to reports of a sudden death.
“At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained,” said a police spokesman.
“Next of kin have not yet been informed of this death so I am unable to provide any further details of the deceased.
“At this stage this death is being treated as an isolated incident and is not being linked to the murder of Una Crown.”
Mrs Crown, 86, was found dead in her bungalow in Magazine Lane, Wisbech, last Sunday (January 13) morning. A post mortem examination carried out this week revealed she had been stabbed in the neck and chest.
Her body was also set on fire following her death in an apparent attempt to hide her injuries and destroy evidence.
On Friday a man delivering newspapers found a knife in a street near to Magazine Lane. Police are examining it to see if it linked to Mrs Crown’s murder.
