Police appeal for witnesses after man is killed in Halesworth crash

Police are continuing with their enquiries and appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle collision in Halesworth yesterday afternoon where a man died.
Police were called at about 3.10pm following reports that a blue Volvo had collided with a property in Bridge Street, near to The Thoroughfare.
Fire crews and the ambulance service were also called to the scene but the single occupant of the car, a man aged in his eighties, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A structural engineer was called and the building has now been made safe.
It is understood that there were no reports of people being injured within the property.
Bridge Street was closed in both directions for several hours, but is open as usual this morning.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle which came from the direction of Quay Street and New Cut in Halesworth.
