Police appeal after spate of catalytic converter thefts in Beccles and Bungay

Police are appealing for information following a spate of catalytic converter thefts in the Beccles and Bungay area.

The thefts took place sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning from a Peugeot 406 parked in Southend Road and a Toyota Hilux parked in Beccles Road in Bungay, and from a Peugeot 406 parked in Castle Hill and a Mitsubishi Pajero, a Peugeot 406 and a Toyota Hilux parked in Ellough Road in Beccles.

Police are urging residents to be vigilant and keep vehicles in a well-secured garage, or a well-lit, public area. Police are also encouraging people to mark their catalytic converters by etching the part and spraying with heat-resistant paint.

Anyone with information about the thefts should call PC 1537 Wells at Suffolk Police on 101, quoting reference BE/14/206.
