Police and fire service investigate possible arson attack on Norwich flat this morning

Police are investigating a suspected arson attack at a Norwich home this morning.

Firefighters were called to a flat at the city-end of Unthank Road at 6.45am.

Engines from Carrow and Earlham were called to the building and crews used hose reel jets to put the fire out.

The blaze was extinguished before 7.10am.

Both the fire service and police said their investigation was “ongoing” into a suspected arson attack as the cause of the blaze.

Driver rescued after Ford Focus crashes into Norfolk river

A driver had to be rescued from a river in Thetford after the Ford Focus he was travelling in came off the road.
