The event, which champions classic country pursuits, was held for the fifth time on Saturday and Sunday and was organised by Living Heritage Country Shows.

One of the organisers, Marge Needham, said: “We run 12 of these events all over the country and Sandringham is our premier show.

“It’s been the biggest show we’ve ever had this year with loads of things going on and some new activities including The Stannage International Stunt Team doing some spectacular tricks on motorbikes and performances by a marching band for the Royal British Legion, who haven’t played here before, and these went down very well. There has been lots of free events for children to enjoy, including learning to fish and how to handle gun dogs. We feel it is very important to get people interested and passionate about the countryside.”

She added: “We usually get about 12,000 people here over the weekend and I think there has been a similar amount this year.”
