A DJ workshop, beat boxing, a karaoke and street dancing were among the activities enjoyed at the launch of a new youth hub in Wells.

A launch party was held for the new venture at The Maltings, on Staithe Street.

The hub has been set up by Norfolk Constabulary in partnership with EP Youth, Momentum and Wells Maltings Trust and is aimed at people aged between 11 and 19.

PCSO Rebecca Taylor, who has been involved in the organisation of the hub, said: “We held this event to see of there is interest in having this kind of thing in Wells on a regular basis.

“It was a really good event and it was a good way to engage with young people to see what they would like.

“There were a lot of adults there interested in volunteering as well, which was good to see.

“We are being flexible about it at the moment but this could lead to more in the future.”

She added: “This is a great project for Norfolk Constabulary to be involved with.

“It is a great way of breaking down barriers between the police and young people and working together with them.”
