  • As you say 'plod' are on the main route to Cantley twice a week, yes some do get a ticket for speeding, most of the hauliers will get pulled at least three times a year just for tacho and vehical checks which can be a nusiance in lost time but it is adheared to.How would you like to get stopped by 'Plod' at least three times in four months just on your way to work. As for the comment about the trailer being covered i would go back online and read the rules and regs again as you have either misread it or have been misinformed. And please take me up on my offer on joining us for a cup of tea in the Whitehouse Layby to discuss any issues you have face to face.

  • Spellcheck you say. Two can play at that game. An ellipses (those dots you put in) should only be three dots no more. Spellcheck that idiot.

  • This doesnt surprise me, the speed some of these lorries go at. At beet time they are a menace and it's time plod started to get tough with them, especially aroung the Cantley Cock pub road, tailgating all the time I also thought as well that they had to have the trailer covered as well to stop the beet from falling off. If this is the case then they are all breaking the law and should be fined with points. What has the suguar beet factory got to say about all this ?.

  • GMW. I suggest that you read my last post again. Gritter drivers and Asphalt gangs are the ones providing a public service. People like you are providing the danger on the roads. Cant even read that properly so reading spedeometers would be a no no for you. Still waiting for the suguar factory to comment though.

  • Well and truly gobsmacked...because i know that you don't need a sheet on a trailer, and i frequent the tea bar in the layby makes me an 'artic' driver. Lorries to be destroyed, drivers banned, asphalt lorries don't need covers all the signs that you need to get out a bit more and live in the real world not the fantasy one you so dream of. I will wave if my job takes me past the Cantley Cock Pub if you happen to be standing there.

  • "Joining us, whitehouse layby", "Covers on the back of artic's", to which Gritters & Asphalt lorries do not use covers. All the signs point to you being an artic driver. I am talking about the artic drivers, not about gritter and asphalt drivers, whose lorries are a darn sight smaller than yours.

  • So because I frequent a roadside tea bar and that i know that a beet trailer does not need to be covered suggests that I am an 'artic driver'. Lorries destroyed, drivers banned, and as for still waiting for the 'suguar' factory to comment,do you really think they will answer to a forum on a public site...all the signs that you are not that bright.

  • Gritter drivers and Asphalt gangs are doing a public service. The suguar beet lorry drivers are driving dangerously, tailgating etc, and putting other road users lives at risk, and not giving a monkeys about others. Some time GMW, just stand by the pub corner, and see the speed some of the idiots go round that corner, and all the beet falling off the lorries. They are the ones who need lorries destroyed and themselves banned from driving. I notice though the suguar factory is keeping very quiet on this !.

  • No anger issues here philski, just same old names spouting on about lorry drivers being a menace,a couple of weeks ago it was the gritter drivers getting all the flack,no doubt it will be the asphalt gangs who get it next for putting some traffic lights up and holding up traffic whilst the roads are repaired...and z spellcheck don't work on dot's but i am so glad you have found it.
