This dramatic photograph shows how a blaze ripped through a shed in a garden of a Kessingland home.

The photograph of the fire in Field Lane was taken by a neighbour who called the fire brigade after he spotted the blaze on Thursday afternoon.

The neighbour, who did not want to be named said: 'I could see there was smoke billowing out of the shed and all of a sudden it went up in flames.

'It was quite frightening as I thought the fire could spread to our home.'

The neighbour's was out with her dog when the fire started and when she got back she saw how it spewed smoke and flames into the air.

She said: 'There was heavy smoke and a wall of flame.'

The occupants of the house where the fire started were out at the time and the neighbours said that only half of the shed had been left standing after the blaze, which also spread to a fence,

The Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 1.15pm about the blaze and sent one fire engine Lowestoft South Fire Station and one engine from Wrentham Fire Station.

The firefighters had put out the blaze by 14.18pm.

The fire service described the incident as 'Shed and fence involved in fire, two breathing apparatus, one jet and one hose reel jet used to extinguish'.
