A Norfolk family which bought a 1969 ambulance on eBay and had it converted into a campervan will appear on a Channel 4 television programme tonight.
Jay Lindner, 34, admits the £2,800 vehicle was the strangest purchase of her life.
She said: “We went camping in the summer of 2012 and the weather was appalling. I always wanted a campervan and so started looking on eBay.”
Mrs Lindner’s husband Jonathan, 35, asked her to find a van that was reliable, big enough for six people, including their four children, Tamar, eight, Nathanael, seven, Eliana, five, and Arin, three, and tall enough for him to stand up in.
She said: “I came across this old ambulance and thought it was so quirky. It didn’t fit any of Jonathan’s criteria, but we’ve all fallen in love with it.”
The Lindners, who live in Cranworth, near Dereham, will feature on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces tonight at 8pm.
