Railway enthusiasts will be able to enjoy all things steam at the nostalgic North Norfolk Railway gala this weekend.
The event, which started today, continues tomorrow, Sunday and March 16 and March 17 between 9.30am and 5pm.
Engines from the 1940s and 1950s, including the Black Prince and Britannia, will be running between Sheringham and Holt.
Volunteer platform supervisor for the North Norfolk Railway Terri Fenn, from Sheringham, said: “The galas get busier each year. It is nostalgic for parents and they want to give their children a taste of how they grew up. Steam engines are part of our heritage and we don’t want to lose them.”
Station master Edward Linge, a retired public servant from Sheringham, said: “I enjoy the heritage. I have memories of steam from when I was a boy.”
The event is in its fifth year and attracts about 2,000 people from East Anglia and further afield.
