About 3,000 people took to Dalegate Market and Deepdale Backpackers and Camping in Burnham Deepdale for the second Deepdale Outdoor and Wildlife Festival.

Geared towards both entertaining and educating, the activities north Norfolk has to offer were showcased, and the importance of preventing damage to the coastal area which is key to the fishing, farming and tourism industries, was highlighted.

From limbering up for the climbing wall and bouncing on the bungee trampolines, to being introduced to wildlife with the Seal and Bird Rescue Trust, the day was fun for all the family.

Active Norfolk ran popular archery taster sessions throughout the day, giving eager athletes a chance to try the Olympic sport and various charities has stalls throughout the event.

The Deepdale Dog Show drew crowds, as well as raising much-needed funds for PACT Animal Sanctuary.

Organiser Jason Borthwick said he was very pleased with the event.

“The whole weekend was about pointing out to people the beauty of the north Norfolk coast, but also reminding them of the fragility of it,” he said.

“We really want people to enjoy the area, but at the same time be aware of how to treat it.” time be aware of how to treat it, an that’s the sort of thing a lot of the charities were saying to people as they went round.”
