Lulu was full of praise for Jarrold when she visited the city-centre store tonight to tell an audience of 100 about her range of beauty and hair care products.
The singer, who first hit the charts 49 years ago with Shout and now sells products on the shopping channel QVC, said: “It’s a family-run business. It’s all about quality, and I relate to that. Our company is very much the same. We are not a huge company.”
Asked about her message for tonight’s audience, she said: “They have paid to come to see me and I hope they are going to ask me questions. I just relate to them as one woman to another, but one who has been very lucky to work with the best make up and hair artists.”
Lulu said her move into the world of beauty products came as a by-product of “looking after myself so I can sing as long as possible.”
She added: “I’m all for a woman looking as good as she can, so she feels as good as she can. We are living for longer and there are more possibilities for women, so it’s about feeling good about yourself, so it’s about going out there and saying ‘Bring it on’.”
