Cromer’s 15th Folk on the Pier Festival, dubbed the “Best Gig on the North Sea” comes to a musical end today with plenty of talented artists still to perform.
The three-day event has seen major names from the worlds of folk-rock, folk, and blues on the stage of the resort’s pavilion theatre and at free fringe events at venues around the town.
Today the theatre is hosting a number of spin-off bands from the granddads of folk-rock, Fairport Convention, and Fairport themselves will close the festival tonight.
There is still time to catch the following free fringe performances: Alan Reid and Rob van Sante, John Paul Jones Talk, Lifeboat House, noon. Jerry Harmon, The Cottage, noon; Elvis Fontenot and the Sugar Bees, Cromer Social Club, noon; song and music session, The Albion, noon; Richard Davies Memorial Session, Hotel de Paris, 1pm; The Jives, Giovanni’s, 1pm; Freddie Hall, The White Horse, 1pm; Fran McGillivray and Mike Burke, The Cottage, 2pm; open mic’ session, The Cottage, 4pm; Fraser Nimmo, The Cottage, 6pm; festival closing session, The Cottage, 8pm.
