About 40 people got the New Year off to a bracing start when they took a dip in the harbour waters at Blakeney.
Watching by an estimated 300-strong crowd the dippers dived in - some dressed as superheroes such as Superman, Batman, and Spiderman, some just in bikinis, and one man rode in on his bike wearing just pants.
Collections and a quayside barbecue raised £1,000 for the local Blakeney Twelve charity which has been running 50 years and helps a range of local causes from over-60s outings and fuel grants to helping visiting young people in hospital.
The dip is held between Boxing Day and New Year’s Day depending on the tides. But It was the first time the dip had been held for three years as the previous two winters saw the event cancelled due to snow and unsuitable tide conditions.
Nearly 3,000 people have supported a Facebook campaign demanding safety improvements on the A47 near Dereham set up after the latest fatal crash.
