A thousand cyclists took to the roads as part of the inaugural Wymondham 50/100 on Sunday.
The race, which started and finishes in Kett’s Park, Wymondham, was organised by keen cyclist, Bart Anderton from Ketteringham.
Those cycling the 50 mile route travelled to Old Buckenham, Hingham, Shipdham and Mattishall while cyclists on the 100 mile route cycled an extra lap around Long Stratton, South Lopham and Bunwell.
Bikers of all abilities took part in the ride on a range of different machines including a tandem and a chopper.
Mr Anderton, who has also organised cycling events in Hethersett, Southwold and King’s Lynn, said: “We had just over 1,000 people taking part with half taking part in the 100 mile course and half on the 50 mile course.
“I will definitely do this again. People seem to love it which is great. I love putting on events and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves.
“The racing calendar is getting full but I love giving people an opportunity to get out on their bikes.”
He also thanked his team of volunteers, including girl guides, Wymondham Cadets and people from the charity Build, who helped marshal the event.
