The successful applicants from this year's Young Norfolk Daily Press team spent their first day at the Norwich office on Friday.

The aspiring young journalists will be reporting on this year's Young Norfolk Arts Festival and this is the second year the project has taken place.

The team of 10 spent this afternoon getting to know each other and learning new media skills.

Hugo Inkson, 17, who will be taking on the role of reporter, said: 'We've been getting the project established and writing biographies for each other'

Tim Williams, managing editor of the Eastern Daily Press, said: 'We hope the experience will be invaluable for their CVs as they seek careers within the creative industries.

'What is going to be particularly interesting is that these aren't work experience placements, these are enthusiastic and talented young people working in a real media environment where they will be writing articles, posting content to websites, taking photographs or video and even designing pages for print and selling adverts.'

The team, all aged between 16 to 18 years old, will be creating two special EDP supplements about the festival, which runs from June 27 to July 6.
