Thousands of festival-goers, families and fans of the popular Worstead Festival turned out to this year’s weekend-long event to soak-up the array of fun activities.

This year there were new attractions as well as old favourites, from the traditional heavy horses, weavers and tractors to a Play Your Cards Right game show. Razz and Aunty Pearl also returned with a team from the adventure park Bewilderwood as well as music, entertainment, theatre and festive food in the Best of Norfolk marquee.

Mum-of-two Kerri-Alana Burrows, 32, of North Walsham, usually goes to the festival every year and this year went with her husband James, 35, and their children.

She said: “The festival was lovely.

“We had a lovely sunny day and there were loads of events for the children. The music was brilliant during the day and our favourite part of the day was watching the live music with a very well priced alcoholic beverage.

“The homemade goods stalls were lovely and the products were beautiful, including the homemade fudge.”

Top chefs were also showing off their skills, including Daniel Smith from the Ingham Swan, Steve Norgate from the Beechwood Hotel in North Walsham, Roger Hickman from Hickman’s Restaurant in Norwich, Andy Snowling from the restaurant chain Animal Inns and Madhu Choudhry from Ethnic Fusion in Dereham.

There were also stalls in the hall and a popular art show as well as entertainment in the ring and the Westover Vets dog show.
