It was Norfolk versus Suffolk as teams from the two county police forces did battle on the football pitch to raise funds for charity.

The inter-force football tournament, held at Barnards Meadow in Lowestoft on Saturday, coincided with a family fun day and raised more than £3,700 for the NSPCC and Help an East Coast Child.

A total of 12 five-a-side teams, including six from Suffolk and six from Norfolk, took part in the competition.

They included police officers and staff from Lowestoft, Kings Lynn, Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Diss, Wymondham, Leiston and Ipswich.

In the end, Suffolk triumphed over Norfolk with a team of Ipswich-based officers taking the title of tournament champions.

Other attractions on the day included an inflatable slide, bouncy castle, bungee run, bucking bronco, sumo suits, gladiator duel and police dog display.

There was also competition, cake and charity stalls, a teddy tombola, children's face painting and a power boat display.

The K-SYL-R Roadshow provided music and fun and games for children and the was also a range of police and fire service vehicles to view.

The Lotus Evora show vehicle was on display during the event alongside the Lotus Europa driving simulator, where people could test their driving abilities whilst wearing a pair of 'beer goggles'.

Local mascots The Beach Bunny and Woody Bear from Pleasurewood Hills put in an appearance and there was a raffle, with a top prize of tickets to see comedian John Bishop at Lowestoft's Marina Theatre with a chance to meet and greet him at the show.
