Pandora's Kitchen, in London Street, has been named the fourth best place to eat an English breakfast in the UK, in a top 10 created by the English Breakfast Society.
The restaurant, which serves sandwiches, salads, soups and afternoon tea in addition to breakfasts, has been open for 18 months and Jeff Taylor, who runs the restaurant, is proud of the achievement.
'I am absolutely thrilled. It goes without saying that I am elated,' said Mr Taylor.
'We've got a hard-working team here and I am so proud of them. It's not just about the food, although we use top quality local ingredients, it's about the service and ambience. We've restored the Victorian building.'
The English Breakfast Society was formed six years ago by chairman Guise Bule and is a society of volunteers who eat English breakfasts across the country and talk about and compare what they have eaten.
Mr Taylor says he is proud that the restaurant's food has been applauded so much by the society but praises his staff for their efforts.
