Heartfelt tributes have poured in for Charlie Ryan, who has died from a rare form of cancer aged six.
The news was confirmed by his parents Tony Ryan and Sam Stroud, on Charlie's Facebook page this morning.
They wrote: 'Our beautiful, beautiful brave boy sadly lost his fight yesterday evening. We are all total devastated by his huge loss.
'He was an incredible son who never let this disease get him down and he fought it every step of the way.'
Charlie had been battling neuroblastoma since being diagnosed on New Year's Eve in 2010. Last year, as his family faced the news that Charlie may only have months left to live, the Norwich Evening News launched the Charlie's Angels appeal, to help the youngster live out as many of his dreams as possible.
In response to our appeal, generous donors stepped forward and Charlie enjoyed a flight in a helicopter, a drive in a sports car and even run out as a mascot for his beloved Norwich City.

There was good news for the family again last September, when they were told Charlie's cancer was in remission, but two months later it had returned and he began undergoing treatment at the family's home in Australia and, after returning for Christmas, the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
With tumours putting pressure on his brain, he suffered three strokes in the past six months, and began having almost daily platelet transfusions at the NNUH after Christmas. However, his condition continued to deteriorate, and he died on Tuesday.
His parents wrote: 'There is a hole in our hearts that can never be replaced but we are so honoured to have had him in our lives.
'We are so proud to be his parents. Orla has lost her amazing big brother who she adored.
'Forever in our hearts, forever six. Sleep tight baby, no more pain. We love you xxxxxxxxx.'
