Floppy hats, fascinators and feathers perched atop perfectly styled hairdos as bevvies of fine fillies donned their glad rags for Ladies Night at Great Yarmouth Racecourse.
Floral prints, neon colours and extravagant head wear were among the fashions on show as groups of race goers enjoyed jugs of Pimms and flutes of champagne in Tuesday's afternoon sun.
Glamorous ladies and dapper gents came from all over Norfolk and further afield for the annual night, which is among the highlights of Yarmouth's social calendar.
Keen race goer Lindsay Anderson, from Clare in Suffolk, wore a bright yellow M&S dress and a showstopping hat she made herself, featuring sunflowers, a model horse and a toy plastic windmill.
She said: 'Every time I go racing I make a hat that suits the occasion so this is my seaside hat.
'I've just been to Newmarket, where I made a Moet bottle with bubbles coming out, where it rained so I'm so glad it's sunny.
'It doesn't matter what the weather is like, we always make the most of it but the sunshine is just fab.'
Ms Anderson, 53, added: 'I love it here. I have to say Yarmouth is one of my favourite racecourses, it's very, very sociable.'
Debbie Deonysiou, from Caister, attended the races with friends and her sister Lisa Hyde, who had come along for the first time.
The 35-year-old, who wore a black and white striped dress from Debenhams, said: 'It's a nice atmosphere and it's lovely to see everyone make the effort.
'I love looking at all the outfits and hairstyles.'
Norma Parnham, from Scratby, meanwhile brought friends Linda Jones, from Surrey, and Pat Parish, from Essex, along for the racing fun.
The trio enjoyed glasses of bubbly in the sun before having a flutter or two.
Norma, 67, who wore a print dress from Karen Millen, said: 'It's the dressing up bit and in July you get the nice weather. And it's a chance to get together, it's a highlight of the year.'
As well as the action on the racecourse visitors enjoyed a catwalk fashion show, posing for professional photos in a pop up studio and the much-anticipated best dressed lady competition.
And new for this year was a best dressed man contest, with the winners and runners up of both competitions bagging themselves a haul of hair and beauty products.
The night was finished off with live music, which struck up after the last horse had galloped over the line.
