City's home record against the Saints is generally good but between 1956 and 1985 they failed to win at the Dell in 19 consecutive League matches.
There have been many high-scoring matches over the years, including one of our featured games from April 1994. Andy Townsend has played for both Norwich and Southampton, with 88 and 83 games respectively. The lone figure receiving an award in the 1980 match is Justin Fashanu.
Our first match, from Division 1, dates from 23rd August 1972 and was a no-score draw. The second, again a Division 1 game, was played on 13th September 1980, when the Canaries won 1-0, though they were relegated at season's end. Our third match, from the Premiership, was played on 9th April 1994, when Southampton won 5-4.
