A traditional seaside activity was the catch of the day on Cromer Pier today.
Children, teenagers, parents and holidaymakers flocked to the north Norfolk landmark this afternoon for crab catching.
The event was part of the town carnival's children's week, which includes free activities for youngsters over two weeks before the main carnival from August 16-22.
Alison Aldis, from Hill Close, Cromer, said: 'It is fun for the children. The amount of activities which are put on in children's week is amazing. All the children love the traditional activities. It makes a change from the modern technology.
'It is good hearing different accents and seeing so many people and holidaymakers joining in. I'm proud of the town and the Comer Carnival committee.'
She was taking part with her two children, Nathan and Chloe, 15 and 11, and Chloe's friend Ryan Tatum, 11.
Other events tomorrow include sand sculpture at 11am on east beach and painting a crab shell on the pier forecourt at 2.30pm.
Activities on Friday include a treasure dig at 11am on east beach; scavenger hunt at 2.30pm on the pier forecourt; and family disco on the pier forecourt at 6pm.
Family fun earlier this week included the tide fight on east beach which involved youngsters building the biggest structure from sand to repel the tide.
