With eight goals, a tense penalty shoot-out, the aftermath of a hurricane and a Hollywood film star it was certainly a memorial charity football match that had everything.

On Sunday the annual Taylor High Memorial Fund football match took place at the home of Lowestoft Town FC in poor weather conditions as the remnants of Hurricane Bertha made its way across the town.

About 150 people braved the weather to watch the game at Crown Meadow between the two sides Taylor High, who died in a car crash aged 19 in 2011, had played for.

The games saw the Ole Frank pub team play a Corton XI, with full time ending in a 4-4 draw - leading to a tense penalty shoot-out which was won 4-3 by the Corton side.

And there was a touch of glamour at the end of the game as Lowestoft actor Reece Ritchie, who stars in the film Hercules, handed out the trophies to the players.

The football fun day raised £715 for the memorial fund, which was set up Taylor's parents, Elaine and Gary, to support community projects, worthy causes and deserving local people. So far more than £54,000 has been raised for the fund.
