Faces old and new have gathered together to help celebrate a Scouting group's milestone birthday.

The 1st Buxton Lamas Sea Scout Group celebrated its centenary by inviting people past and present to view a combined exhibition at their Scout hut at Balay Park in Buxton Lamas this weekend.

As well as tracing the history of the Scouting group down the years, the exhibition also looks at the village's role in the First World War.

The event includes a display of local archive material, photographs and memorabilia of the village and of Buxton Lamas Scouting during the last century with tea and cakes provided by the Buxton Women's' Institute.

Former scout leader, Vereen Marcer, said the exhibition had been bought together with help from lots of people, including committee members Roy and Val Spinks and Jean Gillingwater, who helped put the war history together.
