A bride and groom celebrated their special day in style when they cruised down the River Yare from Brundall to Surligham, followed by a flotilla of boats.
Six boats decked with bunting sailed down the river on Saturday to celebrate the marriage of Martin Andrews, 26, and Leanna Bradley, 23, from Attleborough.
They got married at Attleborough parish church on Friday, and the following day, the newlyweds took to the river to celebrate their wedding in style.
The bride and groom, along with bridesmaids Gracie Fisher and Sonia Perkin, cruised down the river on Leanna’s parents’ boat, Kind of Magic, to the sound of cheers.
They travelled along the River Yare from Brundall Harbour to Surlingham Ferry, through Surlingham Broad and back to the harbour.
Leanna’s mum Denise said: “Everybody waved and people were shouting congratulations. The trip took around an hour and we had nearly 40 people on the six boats.
“Where we keep our boat is like a little community and people wanted to get involved.
“Everyone decorated their boats with bunting and they looked brilliant. Leanna wanted to wear her wedding dress again and it was perfect. It was a fantastic sight seeing all of the boats go down the river.”
Leanna, who works as a receptionist at the Oaklands Hotel, in Thorpe St Andrew, and Martin, who works for Swiss Re, held their reception at Gissing Hall near Diss. They are spending their honeymoon in Turkey.
