Budding artists left their design studio and stepped out in style to raise funds for Sport Relief.

Students from Art Academy East in Dereham were tasked with designing their own T-shirts for the annual fundraiser on the theme of swim, bike and run.

Their ideas ranged from a runner reaching the finishing flag to rainbow-coloured designs.

The group donned their T-shirts and headed out around Dereham today to complete a mile while raising money for and awareness of the cause at the same time.

Claire Frances Smith, owner of Art Academy East in Aldiss Court, said: 'We spend a lot of time sitting down as artists, so a bit of a walk wouldn't do us any harm while raising money for Sport Relief.'

She added: 'It's been nice for the students to feel they have had a client for their project.'

Sport Relief sent the T-shirts to the art school for the students to add their own design. The students' work will count towards their level three diploma in creative techniques.

As part of the initiative, Rick Minn, also known as Ruddy Muddy, who 'draws' on his white van with mud flicked up from the roadside, has created figures swimming, cycling and running on his van door.

The group raised about £40 by collecting in town.
