A specialist dementia care home in Lowestoft has hosted its second pet open day.
Staff, relatives and friends at Harleston House brought their pets in to meet and greet the residents. Altogether, the home was visited by 12 dogs, two tortoises, a kitten, an owl and a pony.
The idea was inspired by the home's residents who love animals and are keen to experience new things. They were surprised to see a pony walking around their home, and a dog even bigger than the pony.
Resident Stella Button said: 'Ace the great dane was certainly bigger than Bow Bow the pony.'
Most of the residents had never seen an owl up close and enjoyed stroking it and feeling its feathers.
Gareth Harding, activities co-ordinator at Harleston House, said: 'It was the home's second pet open day and it was a lovely activity to experience with the residents, the pony and the owl where great newcomers and they stole the show.'
