The people of Lowestoft are being urged to turn out in force tonight and witness footballing history as the Trawlerboys play their first home game at Conference level.

Lowestoft Town face Solihull Moors at their Crown Meadow ground from 7.45pm.

Bob Blizzard, patron of Lowestoft Town, has issued a rallying cry to the people of the town to attend the game and hopefully cheer on the team to their fist victory in the Vanarama Conference North.

Mr Blizzard said: “Come along and be part of history and see Lowestoft Town play their first ever game at Conference level.

“I really feel now we in our the Conference we have more of a national status.”

Lowestoft Town drew their first game 2-2 in the Conference on Saturday when they played away to Chorley.

The Trawlerboys clinched promotion to the Conference for the first time in their history after winning a play-off in May.

Lowestot Town secured promotion with a 3-0 victory over AFC Hornchurch, in front of almost 2,700 fans at Crown Meadow in Love Road.

For tonight’s game the Trawlerboys are likely to be without skipper Dan Gleeson after he picked up a training injury.

Saturday’s man of the match Ashlee Jones is expected to start despite an on-going shoulder problem.
