Police were called shortly after 12pm to reports of a collision involving a lorry and pedestrian on Farrow Road in the city.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service and the East of England Ambulance Service were also in attendance following reports the man was trapped under the lorry.

The male patient was taken to hospital and a police cordon was put in place at the scene.

A woman, who does not want to be named, lives next to where the collision happened and said she heard “screams”. As she looked outside she could see a man under the lorry.

The ambulance service sent two crews, an ambulance officer and the rapid response vehicle from the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

They treated a male patient at the scene before taking him to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for further treatment.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service confirmed he was conscious and breathing.

Farrow Road was closed between the Earlham Road roundabout and the Dereham Road roundabout for more than five hours whilst emergency services were in attendance.

The road reopened shortly after 5pm.
