A hire boat has run aground at Breydon Water near Great Yarmouth today.

Coastguard officers based at Humber said nobody was at risk, but two people aboard the vessel wanted to be taken ashore by lifeboat rather than wait for high tide.

Gorleston lifeboat is currently in attendance, and is working with staff at Goodchild Marine who are to meet the lifeboat to take the pair to dry land.

The coastguard officer described the incident as a “routine summer thing”.
