Two men arrested in Lakenheath for metal theft have been bailed.

Officers arrested the pair in Station Road yesterday at around 12.30am after spotting a suspicious vehicle on the A1065.

They pulled the car over and found approximately 10 metres of copper cable inside.

A 24-year-old man from Thetford and a 32-year-old man from Brandon were arrested on suspicion of theft and taken to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre (PIC).

They have both been bailed to return to Bury PIC on April 3 pending further enquiries.
