Drivers on the A12 between Lowestoft and Gorleston face disruption next week when overnight resurfacing work takes place on sections of the northbound carriageway between the B1375, Rackhams Corner junction, and the Hopton roundabout.
The work will be carried out, weather permitting, from 10pm on Tuesday (December 10) to 6am Wednesday, and between the same times on the following two nights.
While the work takes place, the northbound A12 will be closed and traffic will be directed via the B1375, B1074, and A143 to rejoin the A12 in Gorleston. Local access to and from some of the A12 side roads will be restricted during work. Local diversions will be signposted.
Anna Graham, Highways Agency project sponsor, said: “This work will help to improve journeys on the A12 in Norfolk. Work is expected to last for three nights and has been planned to take place overnight between 10pm and 6am. This avoids the busier daytime peak periods and helps to minimise disruption to road users locally.
“Drivers who might be affected by this work are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time to travel.”
